We're really very pleased to welcome printmaker/illustrator to St. Jude's.
Born in 1952 in London, Chloe’s childhood was spent in the Essex village of Great Bardfield, observing the printmaking of her parents Bernard Cheese and Sheila Robinson – and their friends Edward Bawden and Michael Rothenstein.
Chloe Cheese RCA MA studied at Cambridge Art School and then the Royal College of Art.
She has exhibited at galleries worldwide and has work in public collections including the Victoria & Albert Museum, London and the Arts Council of Great Britain.
She has also worked as a freelance illustrator with clients including The Sunday Times, Terence Conran at Habitat and Commes Des Garcons Japan.
Chloe will be exhibiting a range of paintings and prints at St. Jude's in December - you can sign up for our e-mail newsletter for an invitation to the opening.
But in the meantime, our online print store now features a selection of Chloe Cheese prints.

The cold snap last month made me realise the importance of feeding our wild birds. We melted lard, adding handfuls of nutritious seeds and nuts and now feed them constantly throughout the day - making sure the greedy pigeons don't consume more than their fair share.
Watching the different birds arriving to our city garden is a joy, so much so that I plan on spending an hour at the weekend noting down which birds fly in and out of our patch as part of the annual RSPB survey. This study has been running for over 30 years and is vital in highlighting the habits and population of birds in the UK.
If you'd like to take part visit http://www.rspb.org.uk/birdwatch. The survey runs from 30th -31st January 2010.
And here's a member of artist Emily Sutton's handmade flock (unfortunately all sold out). Emily's currently working on a fabric for St. Jude's - sign up for our e-mail newsletter for details.

We just uploaded a number of Paul Catherall prints to our online print store including Oxo Red II (below).
Based in London, Paul has become renowned for his clean, sharp linocuts of architectural landmarks, exhibiting at numerous solo and group shows, as well as his figurative illustrations for high-profile clients.

Exclusive to St. Jude’s, this three-colour linocut print by Christopher Brown was inspired by a Valentine’s Day card made for his partner last year.
For a limited period we’re offering the print at a reduced price of £85.00 to include free postage in the UK.
Christopher Brown was born in London in 1953 and attended the Royal College of Art where he was introduced to, and eventually assisted, Edward Bawden, the master of the linocut.

My attempts at crochet still haven't progressed beyond wobbly scarves and grand plans for granny squares but I was inspired by catching sight of Kate Jenkins' crocheted caviar tin in the Rebecca Hossack Gallery window. Looking on her website I love this Tate & Lyle lion too.

We've been working with Mary Arnold-Forster of architectural practice Dualchas on the renovation of some old agricultural outbuildings in the Highlands. More on that in the Spring when we're done (though it's looking very, very good).
In the meantime, Dualchas have just had another of their properties featured on the Wallpaper website. This small but perfectly formed black corrugated house is way up on the west coast of Scotland. Further details and photographs on the Dualchas website.
