Graphic designer and photographer Nick Hand has been cycling round the coast of Great Britain to raise funds for the Parkinson's Disease Society. Along the way he has been recording a series of 'soundslide' films, documenting the work of artisans he meets.
On the Norfolk leg of his journey he called in at our friends Old Town in Holt to make this short film about their British workwear range. Find out more about Nick's journey.

Here at the Edinburgh Festival the nomadic Grey Gallery has taken up residence in an elegant Georgian townhose and is exhibiting one of Bob and Roberta Smith's largest works to date 'This Artist is Deeply Dangerous'.
In 2008 the arts and sports writers at The Guardian were asked to swap roles. The resulting clear, enthusiastic and personal review of a Louise Bourgeois exhibition by tennis correspondent Steve Brierley caught Smith's attention - and he has painted the text onto a series of 9 panels of reclaimed wood.
The Grey Gallery @Hawke and Hunter, 12 Picardy Place, Edinbugh EH1 3JT
www.thegreygallery.com. Ends 5th September 2009. Open daily from 11am-6pm. Free admission.

Our friends at Caught By The River have recently revamped their online fishing/music/literature/culture blog, created with an approach (in their own words) "like putting together a fanzine – an unshackled, uncynical torrent of enthusiasm".
And the new online store now features a range of Caught By The River goodies, including these tote bags and t-shirts.

I guess blog entries are generally about places you have managed to get to. But in this instance we failed. Back in Scotland, we spent a bit too long on the beach earlier this week to have time to make it over to Tarlair Swimming Pool, which opened in the rocky bay just east of Macduff in 1931. The pool is grade A listed by Historic Scotland and plans are afoot to restore it to its former glory.
We'll upload some of our own snaps when we eventually get there, but in the meantime you'll find a number of photographs on Flickr.

Had the pleasure of seeing David Byrne live at The Barbican on Monday. Was very slightly concerned when I saw our fellow audience - if someone had dropped a bomb on the venue, Waitrose's share price (were they listed) would have plummetted.
Anyway, dislike the term as much as I do, I'm inclined to say that he is potentially the 'coolest' man in pop today. Marvellous stuff.
I was going to post a video clip of Byrne or Talking Heads playing live but thought the following might be of interest.
A keen cyclist, Byrne was asked by the New York Department of Transportation to judge a competition for the city's new bike rack designs - and was so inspired that he designed a series of his own...
