Via the blog Lovely Textiles, I have discovered that the contemporary folk textile artist Julie Arkell (click here to read previous post on her work) will be holding a residential creative workshop at a location in South West France.
The course titled "Stitching, Knitting and Collecting" is being held from 2nd to 7th July 2009. To get an idea of what the course entails, visit Les Soeurs Anglaises. It is also worth reading the entry about the course on Lovely Textiles which has pictures of the participants making their own dolls.
Flickr also has sets of images from a few courses held at Les Souers Anglaises including Julie's.

It wasn't too long ago that I was pondering on whether to pay the extortionate price for a pack of Polaroid films but having just come across a link to a free download on Poladroid.net, I no longer need to.
This download looks brilliant and easy to use from what I gather, you simply drag your digital image onto the Poladroid icon then wait... then slowly you watch your print develop or if you are too impatient, you can speed it up by a bit of virtual shaking. What you then get is a greyed edge, square photo that looks like a picture from the past.
Check out the Flickr group dedicated to Poladroid images by clicking here.
